Alice Nemecek, Artistic Director has been teaching dance extensively throughout the Morris County area for the past decade. Her forte is ballet; she employs a holistic approach that incorporates classical technique, pilates, floor barre, & classical ballet repertoire. In 2004, she founded Ballet Enchanté, and continues to serve as its Artistic Director & sole choreographer. Ballet Edutainment marks her tenth original choreography project. Her dance education includes classes at New Jersey Ballet, Theatre Arts Dance America/East Coast Movement, Studio Allegro, & Lackawanna Performing Arts Center. She currently trains with Jayne Walsh at Victory Rhythmic Gymnastics in Kenvil. Private coaches include Lynne Grossman, Jayne Walsh, Claudia Cutler, & Diane Gerberg. In addition, Alice has written dance criticism for Attitude: The Dancer’s Magazine. She holds a B.A. in English from Millsaps College & is currently pursuing an M.P.A. degree at Seton Hall University. This is Alice’s fourth season as a dancer within the chamber ballet co.
Sarah Carpenter, Company Dancer holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and currently serves as Associate Director of Bio-analytical Chemistry for Elusys Therapeutics. After extensive training & performance experience in musical theater, Sarah began her ballet training in 2003 at the Firethorn Dance Academy in FL, and later studied at the Patel Conservatory. While studying dance in FL, Sarah performed classical variations from Don Quixote and Paquita at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center; she was also selected to perform the Arabian Variation from the Nutcrakcer when the Moscow Ballet was on tour in FL. When Sarah relocated to New Jersey, she continued her studies at New Jersey School of Ballet; she currently trains with Ballet Enchanté & Verona School of Ballet. With Ballet Enchanté, Sarah has performed the role of the “Indian Girl” and danced in “Grand Bachanale”as part of Ballet School: An Academic Suite, Part 11. She was then featured in A Tribute to George Gershwin (2013). This is Sarah’s 5th season with the company.
Leah Wolfe, Company Dancer is an aspiring professional ballet dancer. She currently trains at the French Academie of Ballet in NYC; prior to that, she studied in the full-day professional program at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet in NYC. She has also received instruction from staff of New Jersey School of Ballet & has received private ballet instruction from Marina Bogdanova. Leah has attended summer intensive ballet programs at GKA & The Kirov Academy; in 2012, Leah competed in the Youth America Grand Prix in Torrington, CT. She was recently accepted into Butler University dance program. Leah was a featured dancer in BE’s Botanical Ballet (2012) & A Tribute to George Gershwin (2013). This is Leah’s 3rd season with Ballet Enchanté.
Ava Namar, Company Dancer began dancing at the age of 5 with the Marie Moore School of Irish Dance. Over the course of her career as a competitive Irish dancer, she has attended the Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships, the North American Irish Dance Championships and the World Championships of Irish Dance. She has been a member of 6 regional title-winning teams in both ceili and figure choreography competitions. At the age of 10, Ava began her study of ballet; initially, she received private instruction, and later continued at New Jersey School of Ballet. She currently trains at the Dance Center of New Jersey under the directorship of Karen & Edward Verso; in 2014, she attended the summer intensive program at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. This is Ava’s first season with Ballet Enchanté.
Claudia Treston, Second Company has currently trains at West Side Dance Center (ballet, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, modern & tap) & with Ballet Enchanté. She is a performer with WSDC Performing Troupe & participates frequently in dance competitions & conventions. She has attended the summer program at the Rock School for Dance Education; and, has participated in training programs at NJ Dance Theatre Ensemble & The Acting Academy. She has performed in productions of The Nutcracker with NJ Civic Youth Ballet & Atlantic City Ballet Theater; and was featured in Cinderella: A New Twist on an Old Tale with Kermidas Dance Co. Most recently, she performed with Voices in Motion at the Perlman Stage at Carnegie Hall. This is Claudia’s first season with Ballet Enchanté.
Megan Bruhn, Second Company was exposure to dance started at Sharon’s Studio of Dance in Whippany, NJ; she demonstrated a natural gift for Irish Step dance & therefore subsequently pursued an intensive study of the art form at Denogla School of Irish Dance in Verona. She was selected to be a competitive Irish Step dancer & has competed successfully in regional & national competitions; most notably, in 2010, she finished 10th at the National Championships in Nashville, TN. She has since attained the highest level of Irish solo dance. Megan’s training in classical ballet began with Ballet Enchanté in January 2014. After just 14 months of study, Megan demonstrated such exceptional dedication & progress that she was invited to become a performer with the Second Company. Megan marks her debut with Ballet Enchanté with “Minuet in G” & “Yankee Doodle Stand-Off.”
